Semi Formal Media is a creative collective founded in 2022 by a trio of Richmond-based artists. Our goal is to highlight the intersections of a wide array of creative mediums spanning all the way from creative writing and physical garment manufacture to graphic design and 3D-printed materials.

This emphasis on the interconnectedness of physical and digital art forms is paramount to Semi Formals vision. With these values at the forefront, we will create a space where the lines between technological and artisanal art are continuously blurred. Collaboration with what we hope to be an ever-expanding cast of creators will allow us to effectively fold the physical into the digital, and vice versa.

The collective aims to illustrate that the limitations facing artists (both digital and physical) are surprisingly amorphous, or, at the very least, only semi-formal.
